I think its a 2 point moving violation, I am CT resident, question is do you think my car insurance will go up? if yes then how much I should expect it to go up? NY law states that one have to have car headlights on 1.5 hrs before and after sunset, I got the ticket at 7.45PM in Sept, sunset was at 7 PM so I think I have good chance to plead for non guilty (and it was a rented car, road was well lit etc), please suggest what will be the best option...pay the fine or to plead non guilty? I had 2 no insurance tickets in NY for a car that wasn't mine and they were both achieved a week after the other. I moved to NC before my court dates. When I went to court 3 years later (I know that's really bad) they threw out the 1 ticket but the other one was showing up at DMV as default conviction and that I couldn't go to get it thrown out. I also got arrested in Staten Island at the toll booth between all of this on the way back to NC from Thanksgiving break for driving with a suspended license due to missing my court dates. When I went to try and take care of all this on Long Island, I was told the only thing showing was the 1 insurance ticket for $750. It had been around 10 months since the suspended license ticket in SI when I was told that it wasn't showing up. But to clear my license up in NC, would they see my SI ticket if the DMV in LI doesn't? I've heard the 2 DMV's (SI and LI) aren't linked to each other. It;s so hard to explain but ANY type of help would be appreciated. (more...)

I can't find my car it was in front of my house I believe it was towed because it contain no plates I moved recentely from wisconsin to staten Island ny so I couldn't drive it because it had no insurance because in wisconsin I could drive with my international driving license but here it is not permitted so I don't have license or insurance ..I don't know where is my car or how can i get it back...I appretiate any help.... I already did that they told me to call the sheriff office but it is not working in this time today is friday and it is week end I don't have anything illegal in it but I don't have insurance in it because I don't have driving license except international nobody want to make insurance for me in ny with it (more...)

Ok so I live in staten Island, ny and just landed a job in long island,ny. I got an apartment there so i put my area of residence as the LI address when the insurance company asked me regarding quotes. When I went to the dealer, all the addresses said the LI address, including registration, title and whatnot. I got home and realized I made a mistake and rather than the house number being 442, I put 422. I financed the car thru honda? I already called the insurance company and got the address fixed? but what do i do about registration and title? Do i even technially own the title since i financed it thru honda? Everything is going to go to the mail at 422 and I dont even know who lives there!! Please help someone with solutions,,,, (more...)
