Okay I live on Long Island New York and I recently gotten into a car accident im 19 years old I drive a 2007 Range Rover Sport im not sure if the car has anything to do with it... it was my fault I hit her from behind but she stoped at a green light on a busy road ... I want to know some things that I can do to make my car insurance payments lower to what they were before i gotten into the accident is there like a 5 hour driving course i can go to how can i go about this .. my insurance company is Geico .. thank you ! Ok here's the deal, ive just past my driving test last week and my sister bless her has offered to give me her old car as shes just bought a new 1. Its a Hyundai coupe 1998 1.6, gonna cost me 1200 insurance for a first time driver for the year, the car shes wants to give me isnt that great, its had many faults, recently shes spent bout 1200 in the last month fixing it up i.e new cam belt, wheel bearings, new brake pads and disks plus a new spoiler and rear bumper as someone slightly bumped into her at a island and then a new crankshaft sensor also. Thing is without going in vast vast detail ive saved very hard over the past 2 years to buy my own car and waited for this moment for a long time, not had much help from any1 as the family is in a very messed up situation but ive done this myself with no help and had plans for when i pass, then totally out of the blue she wants to give me this car, that i know has had a fair few repairs as of late. I cannot refuse the car as i do not want to hurt and offend her as i know shes only trying to help me out and maybe feels responsible for things in the past. NOW the real matter is, as i had planned all this to buy my own car, but now i am obliged to except this from her......can i take the car an leave it in a secure garage without insurance, fix the car up even more and then sell it on for pure profit. in the mean time i can carry on with my plans and get the car i want, a VW Corrado. I MUST BE SEEN IN HER EYES to be driving the Hyundai, this would therefore mean i have to get insurance on both cars.........on a weekly basis can i swap insurance between these cars so when i go to her house im in the hyundai, but for general use i can cruise in my Corrado......... do you see what i mean, can i swap the insurance between the 2 cars that quickly considering the one im NOT using will be in a secure locked garage when im driving the other..........very complex i know but i dont want to hurt her feelings, im a peace keeper and i dont want her to think im snubbing her help...... I need to be able to swap the insurance very quickly between cars at least for 3 months, the question is.... is that possible, so i do nt have to have 2 insurance policy's on the go at the same time... i know its crazy but i need views please..... I had 2 no insurance tickets in NY for a car that wasn't mine and they were both achieved a week after the other. I moved to NC before my court dates. When I went to court 3 years later (I know that's really bad) they threw out the 1 ticket but the other one was showing up at DMV as default conviction and that I couldn't go to get it thrown out. I also got arrested in Staten Island at the toll booth between all of this on the way back to NC from Thanksgiving break for driving with a suspended license due to missing my court dates. When I went to try and take care of all this on Long Island, I was told the only thing showing was the 1 insurance ticket for $750. It had been around 10 months since the suspended license ticket in SI when I was told that it wasn't showing up. But to clear my license up in NC, would they see my SI ticket if the DMV in LI doesn't? I've heard the 2 DMV's (SI and LI) aren't linked to each other. It;s so hard to explain but ANY type of help would be appreciated. (more...)

I was pulling out of the bank onto a small street (1 lane each way) it's a packed street because there are 4 shopping centers, including a bank, post office and fire dept. all next to eachother, so there was a car in the middle island that was there for a long time causing a blind spot and no cars had been going through either way so i went to get to the parking lot across the street so i slowly went through so i could see past the car in the center causing a blind spot, then i saw a van coming so i stopped (in the imaginary island) she was going about 40 in a 25 mph zone and she hit me, didn't even press the brakes or anything until after the hit. A man told her she was speeding but denied everything. anyways whos at fault and how does the insurance know, plus we both have mercury insurance, no one wanted to be a witness so we have no proof. She called the insurance to report it but there was minimal damage, under 1000 dollars, my bumper just got scraped and lost the plates & no dents (more...)
